Adult and two children killed in collision with truck

Two children and an adult have died after their car was “crushed” in a horrific accident involving a truck west of Ballarat, in central Victoria.

Another adult, who was trapped in the car, suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to hospital following the crash on Tuesday morning (AEDT).

The truck driver had minor injuries.

The triple-fatal collision happened at Stoneleigh, about 45 minutes west of Ballarat, at the intersection of Eurambeen-Streatham and Mount William roads.

Victoria Police said the vehicle appeared to have “rolled and been crushed”.

“Sadly, an adult and two children have died at the scene,” they said.

“The area has been cordoned off and the surrounding roads are blocked while police and emergency service personnel respond to the scene.”

Detectives from the major collision investigation unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
