A man has been charged with three counts of murder after a woman and two children were found dead in a “particularly violent crime scene” in Sydney.
Police discovered the bodies of a 46-year-old woman and two young boys, aged four and 12, in a home in Campbelltown on Monday night.
A 47-year-old man — who is believed to have called triple-zero about 8pm — was arrested at the scene.
Acting Superintendent Michael Moroney said the bodies were found in “various parts of the premises”.

The man was known to the alleged victims, but he had no previous history with police, Moroney said.
There were reportedly no records of domestic violence disturbances at the home.
“Whilst I can’t give you specific information in regards to how they passed, what I can tell you is all three persons sustained significant injuries, and it was a particularly violent crime scene,” Moroney said late on Monday.
He said potential weapons — but no guns — were found inside the house, although he gave no further details.
“Police have located a number of items inside the premises which would be of interest in regards to the injuries sustained by those people,” he said.
“Until that crime scene is processed, I can’t confirm the exact cause of deaths of those people at this time.”
The man was charged on Tuesday morning with three counts of domestic violence murder.
He will appear in Campbelltown Local Court later on Tuesday.
The horror discovery came on the same day NSW police said they had arrested almost 1000 people in a four-day crackdown on repeat domestic violence offenders.
“This today appears to be not something that we had on our radar in terms of being known to police,” Moroney said.
“But I can reassure the public that domestic violence is a No.1 priority for the NSW Police, and we will continue to prioritise DV offenders.”
