A British court has heard details of how Barron Trump summoned help from police as a woman he is “very close with” was allegedly assaulted in London while on they were on a FaceTime call.

Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, is on trial facing charges including assault and two counts of rape against the alleged victim, whose name has not been released.

The Crown Prosecution Service on Thursday local time released a transcript of an emergency call in which US President Donald Trump’s youngest son tells the operator that he met the alleged victim on social media.

“I’m calling from the US, uh I just got a call from a girl, you know, she’s getting beat up,” he said.

“This was happening about eight minutes ago. I just figured out how to, how to call someone. Uh, uh it’s really an emergency.”

When the operator asked how Trump knew the woman, he replied: “I don’t think these details matter, she’s getting beat up but OK fine, also I met her on social media, I don’t think that matters.”

The operator responded: “Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions?”

“If you want to help the person, you’ll answer my questions clearly and precisely,” the operator continued.

After saying he did not know the name of the man allegedly carrying out the assault, Trump said: “Sorry for being rude.”

In a later email to police officers investigating the allegations of assault, Trump said: “I was told by the victim, who I am very close with, that this individual was giving her difficulty for a long time.”

He said the assault he witnessed was “very brief indeed but indeed prevalent”.

As well as raising the alarm himself, Trump said he also asked two friends in the US to call the police, the court heard.

Rumiantsev denies the charges, which date from November 2024 to January 2025.

He told the court he got upset when he accused the woman of calling Trump “sweetheart”, but denied he was in a controlling relationship with her.

Rumiantsev, a Russian national, told the court that he learned about the woman’s friendship with Trump in October 2024 when she asked him to take a photograph of a chat between them on her phone.

“He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment,” the woman told the court of Trump’s intervention.

The trial continues.
