The wife of two-time Brownlow Medal winner Lachie Neale has broken her silence with a strong statement amid rumours of a marriage breakdown.

Reports have been swirling of trouble between Jules and the Brisbane Lions star, with a news article on Friday suggesting the couple was “working through” their issues.

However, the mother of two hit back at that report with a statement.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything.

“I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.

“All I can do now is to heal and do what’s best for my children.

“Thank you for the love and support. Jules x.”

The 30-year-old’s comments came after she appeared to hint at trouble in the relationship in an Instagram post to celebrate her son’s first birthday during the week.

She did not mention or include her famous husband in the tribute to their youngest child, Freddie, who was born in December 2024.

“Turning 1 today. This little man, and his beautiful big sister have taught me what real love, courage, and joy look like,” she posted.

“You’re the sweetest soul Freddie bear. Thank you for choosing me, for holding me up without even knowing it. I’m so lucky to be your mumma and I love you beyond words x.”

The couple’s daughter, Piper, is aged four.

It was noted that all pictures of Lachie dating back to 2012 have been deleted from Jules’ page and she had also unfollowed her husband.

Neale was awarded AFL’s prestigious Brownlow Medal in 2020 and 2023, joining an elite group of players with more than one win.

As co-captain, he led the Lions to secure back-to-back premierships this year, with a crushing 47-point win over Geelong in the grand final in September.
