A manhunt is under way after two people were stabbed in properties on opposite sides of Melbourne on Sunday.
Police said the first victim, believed to be the suspect’s cousin, was stabbed in a property in Epping at about 7.30am.
The 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A few hours later, the suspect is alleged to have deliberately crashed a silver Honda CRV wagon into a home at North Dandenong.
The driver allegedly got out of the vehicle and stabbed the female occupant of the house, believed to be his sister.
“The 34-year-old woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” said police.
The man, who is described as African in appearance, dressed in a brown shirt and black pants, fled on foot.
