Sarah Ferguson denies bizarre reality TV plan for queen’s corgis

A representative for the former Duchess of York has denied she ever wanted to go ahead with a bizarre reality TV show about cloning for the former queen’s beloved corgis.
It follows reports in British media that Sarah Ferguson had intended to star in a reality series in which she would have sold clones of Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis, Muick and Sandy.
Ferguson and her ex-husband, the former Prince Andrew, took in the two dogs after the queen’s death in 2022.
Just eight months later, according to the Daily Mail, the 66-year-old former duchess held talks with TV bosses in Los Angeles, where they touted an idea that would involve her selling cloned corgis to “dog lovers around the world”.
On Sunday, a spokesperson for Ferguson denied the claims in a statement to People magazine.
“Ms Ferguson regularly receives varied TV offers and proposals — often for reality shows which she always declines,” they said.
“To be absolutely clear, she declined the proposal … regarding a reality TV show involving the late queen’s corgis.”

The spokesperson said the proposal came after initial conversations with US production company Halcyon Studios.
“Conversations ended following her declining the opportunity suggested,” they said.
A spokesperson for Halcyon Studios did not respond to People‘s request for comment.
Royal author Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail that to even “consider cloning the late queen’s beloved dogs for financial gain is unbelievably grotesque and utterly bizarre”.
Queen Elizabeth was well-known for her love of corgis. Throughout her 70-year reign, she owned more than 30 corgis and dorgis (a daschund-corgi cross).
Muick and Sandy were reportedly given to the late queen by Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and were the only two dogs to outlive her. They were even among the congregation at her funeral on September 19, 2022.
The dogs then went back to live with Ferguson and Mountbatten-Windsor at Royal Lodge, the historic mansion they continued to share despite divorcing decades ago.
A year after her death, Ferguson said the late queen had entrusted her with the care of Sandy and Muick and she was “delighted to say they are thriving”.
“I have her dogs, I have her corgis,” she said at an event in London.
“Every morning they come in and go ‘woof woof’ and all that and I’m sure it’s her talking to me. I’m sure it’s her, reminding me she’s still around.”

Mountbatten-Windsor has since been evicted from the home, as he was stripped of all his royal titles amid ongoing controversy about his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
In a royal first, he was also arrested in February over an investigation into misuse of public information while in public office. He was released after 12 hours and no charges have yet been laid.
Mountbatten-Windsor continues to deny all allegations of wrongdoing.
He now lives at Marsh Farm, a much smaller property on the Sandringham estate of his brother, the King.
Ferguson’s whereabouts are unknown. She has also faced scrutiny for revelations about her own ties to Epstein and has not been seen in public since December 2025.
In November last year, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Muick and Sandy would “remain with the family”. It did not, however, specify which particular family member would care for them.
At the weekend, Mountbatten-Windsor was photographed in Norfolk in the first sighting since his arrest. He was pictured as he walked around the property with his dogs – although it’s not clear if Sandy and Muick were among them.
