Jamie Lee Curtis has insisted the award-winning series The Bear will end after its upcoming season five, despite no one else publicly confirming it.
The Oscar and Emmy-winning actress, who has a recurring role in the restaurant comedy-drama, surprised fans when she shared a post of herself and co-star Abby Elliot wrapping up filming.
Curtis wrote in February, “FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.”
This week, in an interview with Access Hollywood, the reporter queried Curtis’s post.
“People think you were confirming the show is ending,” they said.
Curtis responded:“But everybody’s confirmed the show is ending. I don’t understand why that’s such a [big deal].
“Unless I’m gonna get a call from all the people saying, ‘You just told [everyone],’ I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn’t, then I’ve completely blown it.”
No one else in the cast has spoken about the show coming to an end.
FX has not responded to media requests for comment.
