Army investigates Apache flyover at Kid Rock’s mansion

The US army has launched an internal review after Trump-loving musician Kid Rock posted a video of an Apache helicopter doing a flyover at his home.

The AH-64 Apache aircraft hovered alongside the infinity pool of Rock’s hillside mansion in Nashville at the weekend.

In the clip shared on social media, Rock stands next to a replica State of Liberty and claps and salutes the crews.

“This is a level of respect that s–t-for-brains Governor of California will never know,” Rock wrote on social media.

“God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”

The footage prompted backlash from people questioning whether taxpayers’ money was used for a private spectacle.

“I’m so glad that our tax dollars are paying for Kid Rock to have a military fly by,” said one comment on Rock’s Instagram post.

“And we are out here struggling to buy groceries and gas. So glad our taxes are going toward this bulls–t,” said another reader.

Others enjoyed the “honour” bestowed upon the rocker. Rock is a vocal supporter of US President Donald Trump and has attended and performed at his rallies.

“No truer Patriot than Kidd Rock! He puts his heart & soul in it & it certainly shows,” said a comment.

“Yes! God bless America and God bless President Donald Trump.”

The army has launched an administrative review, but the Associated Press reports there was no official request from Rock for helicopters at his house on Saturday (US time).

Major Jonathon Bless told AP that the division, located at nearby Fort Campbell on the Tennessee-Kentucky border, often made training runs over the Nashville area.

“Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations,” he said.

“An administrative review is under way to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements.

“Appropriate action will be taken if any violations are found.”

The helicopters also flew over Nashville’s “No Kings” protest against Trump on the same day. Bless said that was a training run that had nothing to do with the protest.
