NASA reveals new, close-up photos of Pluto
The US space agency has released stunning new images of Pluto haloed by sunlight.
NASA published the photos on Friday morning, which were captured by the New Horizons probe in July.
“This image really makes you feel you are there, at Pluto, surveying the landscape for yourself,” New Horizons principal investigator Alan Stern said in a statement.

“But this image is also a scientific bonanza, revealing new details about Pluto’s atmosphere, mountains, glaciers and plains.”
One of the images captured a Plutonian landscape measuring 1,250 kilometres across, NASA reported.
The delay in downloading the images was caused by the great distance across space the data needed to travel and the slow technology NASA must use to receive the information.
