NeeDoh – the $15 toy breaking the Internet and vanishing from shelves

A new toy craze is sweeping social media feeds and playground alike, and is emptying shelves around the world.

Meet the “NeeDoh” – a simple and somewhat unremarkable squishy toy that has become the latest obsession for kids and even adults.

Retailing for around $15, the balls are designed for stress relief and sensory play.

While they’ve existed since 2018, a recent TikTok trend has created a sudden surge in demand, sparking a worldwide shortage.

10 News Plus spoke to several toy stores which were all sold out and some say they may have to wait until September for stocks to be replenished.

Online listings are either unavailable or marked up, and if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one, it could take weeks to be delivered.

For now, the squishy sensation shows no signs of losing its grip with kids hooked, parents scrambling and companies desperately working to refill shelves.
