Small business owner ‘ghosted’ after Sendle’s collapse

The Australian delivery company Sendle has left customers and staff hanging after they abruptly stopped sending packages.

Sendle launched back in 2012 and marketed itself as a rival to Australia Post, offering simple, reliable and affordable shipping for Aussie businesses.

Natasha Wilton, who runs a small jewellery business, says she feels like she’s been “ghosted” after she dropped off hundreds of dollars’ worth of goods to go out to customers but has no idea if they’ve been delivered.

She received an email from Sendle stating: “Any parcels that have already been picked up and are in transit will be delivered at the discretion of the delivery partner.”

Last year the company merged with two US firms – forming Fast Group – which has now closed, after issues with one of the overseas companies.

The original “Sendle” business is still registered, so it doesn’t mean the Aussie delivery service couldn’t make a comeback.
