Would-be FIFO workers targeted in online scams

Source: Network Ten
FIFO has exploded on TikTok, encouraging Gen Zs from all over the world to seek their financial freedom down in Australian mines.
But some are looking to cash in on their Australian dreams.
Would-be miners are allegedly being targeted in schemes asking for cash to train them for non-existent jobs.
Multiple working holiday makers have told 10 News+ they’ve been approached on social media, offered training and asked for a deposit only to be blocked once the transfer has been made.
Over 12 people claim they paid “Aussie Farm Labour Service,” without receiving a job or training.
They’ve been left feeling “numb” and “stupid” at how it all panned out and are being forced to live off their dwindling savings.
A seemingly promising venture well and truly turned flash in the pan.
