Crows coach Walsh gets to the art of the matter
Adelaide Crows coach Phil Walsh knew heād sound like a weirdo.
But he told his story anyway: how a self-described bogan found inspiration in art.
⢠The road trip that could make CollingwoodĀ
⢠Why the Eagles are premiership contenders
The Crows boss, who stresses heās no art critic, was in Amsterdam. At the Van Gogh museum.
āThere is a man with great frustration,ā Walsh told reporters on Thursday.
āAnd I looked at that painting Sunflowers. And for a bogan from Hamilton like myself, I could actually see beauty in that frustration.
āSo although our fans are frustrated, weāre frustrated, we like to think thereās some masterpieces still to be painted this year.ā
Walshās Crows are perched seventh on the ladder, with an away trip to Brisbane on Saturday night.
The coach admits frustration at Adelaideās skill levels, kicking blunders and slack tackling. But heās philosophical.
āI will sound again a bit like a weirdo,ā he said.
āBut great art comes out of a level of frustration.ā
