Victory cruise into A-League Grand Final

Melbourne Victory are through to the A-League grand final after a surprisingly comfortable 3-0 derby win over Melbourne City at Docklands.

A near-perfect first-half performance laid the foundations for the Victory’s win, as injuries robbed City of key players before the hour mark.

Rivalry finally comes of age

Besart Berisha capped of a flowing team move by heading in Victory’s first goal, before a technically brilliant volley from Kosta Barbarouses made it 2-0 in the 30th minute.

Archie Thompson poached a third as the clock wound down to send the majority of the 50,000-plus fans at Docklands into celebration mode.

Kevin Muscat’s side will play Sydney FC in next week’s final.
