Aussie says Dubai authorities threatened jail over missile videos

An Australian who fled Dubai as US-Iran tensions escalated claims authorities in the United Arab Emirates threatened jail time and a $77,000 fine unless social media videos showing missiles over the city were deleted.
Content creator Daniel Holmes told 10 News+ the warning came after a series of videos posted online went viral, showing the world the once safe city in disarray.
Authorities have publicly warned people against sharing unverified information online, stating: “The public prosecution warns against publishing or circulating rumours or they will be subject to legal accountability.”
The claims come as reports and footage of missiles and damage in Dubai appear to have disappeared from several social media platforms.
Holmes was among a small number of Australians who managed to secure seats on what was the first evacuation flight back home.
