US move sparks fears of imminent conflict with Iran

Fears of a US-Iran conflict are intensifying with reports the Trump administration has amassed the greatest amount of air power in the region since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Pentagon officials say the US has now moved enough firepower to the Middle East that Donald Trump has the option to launch a sustained, weeks-long air attack against Iran.
The US President has not said whether he has made a decision, but the option is there.
While the US has been busy positioning military forces, Iran demonstrated a show of force, carrying out live fire exercises alongside Russian forces.
The military drills forced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, an essential shipping channel which keeps a significant portion of the world’s oil supply moving.
Trump, whose election promise was to keep America out of wars, is now weighing up what would be the 7th US military attack in another country in the past year.
