Police in South Australia have recovered a haul of Lego so large that they had to use two horse floats to transport it.

The boxes of bricks – said to be valued at around $320,000 – were allegedly found at a suburban home  on Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation into stolen goods.

SA Police said in a statement that a 34-year-old woman and 42-year-old man at the property were arrested and charged with theft.

“The goods are suspected of being stolen from numerous retail outlets across the metropolitan area,” the police statement alleged.

“Significant resources and logistics were required to transport the items, which included two Mounted Police horse floats and 15 pallets to hold the seized Lego.”

The arrested pair were bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on the 12 May.
