A 23-year-old man has died after a suspected dog attack at a rural property in Sydney’s south-west where about eight dogs were believed to be living.

Police were called to the Eschol Park property and established a crime scene after the man’s body was discovered on Wednesday with significant injuries.

“Initial inquiries indicate the man may have been attacked by animals prior to his death,” they said in a statement.

About eight dogs lived at the Eschol Park property, according to Sydney radio 2GB.

None of the animals are believed  registered or microchipped.

Nine newspapers reported that the 40ha property where the body was found is home to “Saturn’s Rings” – AKA the “Universal Power House” – an iconic building with a unique design based on the rings of Saturn.

Polish immigrant Stefan Dzwonnik began constructing the building in 1979, apparently with the aim of it becoming a “mecca for a worldwide movement directed towards a better life on Earth”.

The man found dead at the property isn’t believed to be either a resident or worker, according to Nine newspapers, which reported that three utes carrying dogs were seen being taken from the gated property on Friday.

Campbelltown City detectives have launched an investigation into the man’s death, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
