A woman and child have been found dead inside a house after a man was seen running from the property before he was hit by a car, police said.
A crime scene has been declared at the house in Logan, south of Brisbane, where the woman, man and child were believed to live as a family.
The man was seen running from the abode on Thursday shortly before he was struck by a car.
Police said he appeared to have an existing wound to his neck when he was hit on Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road at Bannockburn.
Police were called to the scene of the crash near a supermarket around 7.30am.
The accident led police to the house, where they discovered the dead mother, aged in her 30s, and the child.
Police said they appeared to have injuries consistent with an “edged weapon”.
No gunshots were reported in relation to the incident.
It’s believed the man and woman were in a relationship and lived with the child in the house on Belivar Road.
Police want to determine what injuries he had prior to the car incident.
Media report that a trail of blood is visible on the road for hundreds of metres leading up to the crash scene.
