Coalition split could see more support for One Nation

Liberal and National MPs will spend the weekend doing the numbers after the Coalition formally split for the second time in less than a year.
Opposition Leader Sussan Ley’s position has been described as untenable, but David Littleproud is also under pressure – for announcing a mass resignation of his shadow ministers on the day of national mourning for victims of the Bondi terror attack.
The timing is a bad look, and yet another own goal for an opposition that’s fast becoming obsolete.
One Nation stands set to benefit most, as right-leaning voters become disillusioned.
Barnaby Joyce told Ten News Plus it is almost as if his former Coalition colleagues are recruiting for his new party. He said no Nationals MPs have formally asked about following him to Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, but after the chaos of this week, “they’d better start thinking about it”.
