Are you dead? App for singles afraid of dying alone goes viral
An App previously called Are You Dead?, since renamed Demumu, is taking the world by storm.
The app was created in response to the grim loneliness epidemic in China, and is designed to target people in single-person households who are afraid of dying alone and no one knowing.
The app prompts users to do a daily check in. If anyone fails to do so within 48 hours, then their emergency contacts are alerted.
While the app is aimed at the older generation as a safety tool, you might be surprised to know that it’s not just the elderly that are left feeling lonely.
According to the UN’s World Happiness Report, the loneliest age group is between 16-24 years of age.
