Over $16m of cannabis seized

Over $16 million worth of cannabis has been seized in northern New South Wales.

The finds came in a series of targeted November raids in the north of the state.

The NSW Drug Squad and local officers were assisted by a bird’s eye view from the Police Air Wing.

And they seized more than 4000 plants last week, in eight separate locations.

Those seizures followed a huge discovery on November 11.

Then, officers found an 8500-plant crop in the Bundjalung National Park.

The crops were bordered by a shockproof fence.

Cannabis-growing season extends from late spring to early autumn.
