Fourth man charged for gang rape

A fourth man will face court charged with the brutal gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in Geelong.

The 27-year-old man from Corio is due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with rape and abduction.

He was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after handing himself into police over the alleged attack on the teenage girl in the Geelong suburb of St Albans Park on November 1.

He has been remanded into custody.

The girl was sexually assaulted twice by a violent, drunken gang of men after they found her and her 16-year-old male friend sitting in St Albans Park after leaving a nearby party.

The teenage boy ran for help after he was kicked and punched as he pleaded for the four men to leave the girl alone.

The girl was raped near a park and then carried by the men to a nearby house where the sexual assault continued.

The girl was found an hour later after knocking on the door of a house and pleading for help.

Two brothers from Melbourne have been remanded in custody over the attack, with a third man – a relative of the brothers – also in custody after he was extradited from Queensland.

Another man, from Harrisdale in Western Australia, was released without charge after being questioned.
