Nova Peris: Bolt should go
Northern Territory senator Nova Peris says commentator Andrew Bolt should have been sacked for saying the stolen generation was a myth.
Speaking today at the Garma Festival in Arnhem Land, she said Aboriginal people were repeatedly told to be quiet when they should be allowed to discuss Australia’s bloody past.

“My grandfather had chains around his goddamned neck, that’s the history of this country, but we keep closing the history books,” an impassioned Ms Peris said.
“Andrew Bolt says the stolen generation is a myth, that’s bull***t, it happened.
“(Prime Minister) Tony Abbott could have picked up a phone and said ‘sack this person, he is a disgrace to this country’.”
