The personal impact is challenging – not only for the sufferers, but for their carers too.

The Great Day Choir meets every two weeks, using music to help dementia patients and their loved ones.

The group’s musical director, Christina Mimmochi, believes in the healing power of music.

She says anyone can join her choir and perform songs that are specially curated in the hope they’ll spark memories, lift spirits and create a lasting impact.
