Commando talks about Aussie Biggest Loser after US version is slammed

Commando defends The Biggest Loser

His reputation on The Biggest Loser was as the “tough trainer”, but the Commando says he never took it too far, amid revelations the show in the US crossed a line with contestants.

Steve Willis says he saw nothing in Australia like what the Netflix documentary showed in the US version, and that every measure was taken to ensure participants were safely pushing the boundaries.

The documentary, which is in the top 10 on Netflix, airs allegations that the US version of the show took a dangerous approach to weight loss. It also suggests American contestants were abandoned once filming wrapped.

The Australian version of The Biggest Loser went off air in 2017, after 11 seasons on Network Ten. The Commando insists that once the show finished up the contestants were given the tools to ensure the change they implemented would last a lifetime.
