Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has been immortalised in a new Barbie doll wearing a red catsuit inspired by the music video for her viral hit Padam Padam.
Toy maker Mattel worked closely with the singer to create the Barbie Signature Collector Doll, which follows a previous collaboration in 2024 that saw a one-of-a-kind doll released to honour Minogue as a Barbie Role Model during Barbie’s 65th anniversary.
A two-time Grammy Award winner who has sold more than 80 million records, the “platinum pop icon” is described as a worthy addition to Mattel’s Barbie Music Series.
“From Can’t Get You Out of My Head to Padam Padam, Kylie Minogue has been dropping hits since 1987,” the toy maker says.
“Our tribute to this Australian award-winner showcases her iconic style, in a look inspired by her Padam Padam music video. Rocking red head-to-toe, from her catsuit to her knee-high boots and dramatic cape, she’s ready to strut the stage.”

“Seeing this doll come to life has been really special,” Minogue said of the Barbie, which retails for $95 in Australia.
“The response to the one-of-a-kind Barbie Role Model was overwhelming, so I was excited to team up with Mattel again and I can’t wait to see Kylie Barbie out in the wild.”
Her single Padam Padam was released in 2023 and came from her 16th studio album, Tension. The synth-pop song was a huge success for Minogue, debuting at number one on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
“Connection has always been at the heart of everything I do, and sharing the joy and fun of the Tension era with people across the globe has been an incredible experience,” Minogue said.
“From the spark of Padam Padam through to the Tension album and world tour, this Barbie feels like a perfect snapshot of that time.”
While Mattel said the new Barbie has been sculpted to look just like Minogue, “with a red lip and dramatic eye shadow”, some social media users aren’t so convinced. One goes so far as to suggest it more closely resembles Katya – presumably a reference to the blond-tressed, Russian-inspired drag star from reality-television show RuPaul’s Drag Race.
