How Taylor Swift made the world obsessed with Hugh Grant’s wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein

People around the world are suddenly obsessed with actor Hugh Grant’s wife, and it’s all because of Taylor Swift and an embarrassing mix up.
During a recent appearance on US talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote her album the pop superstar recounted an encounter with her and her fiancé Travis Kelce, at one of her Eras Tour shows in 2024.
According to Swift, Kelce spotted who he thought was Barbie director Greta Gerwig in the friends-and-family tent at the show and decided to introduce himself.
In attempt to be charming, Swift said the NFL star introduced himself saying he loved the film and joked that he was “Ken, too”.
She said the fact that “Gerwig” did not seem impressed with the encounter finally made sense when they later discovered Kelce was actually talking to Anna Elisabet Eberstein, the wife of British actor Hugh Grant.
Thanks to Swift’s anecdote, “Hugh Grant’s wife” is one of the most searched phrases on Google in recent days.
For the record, Eberstein, 46, is a Swedish television producer and entrepreneur who studied economics in Sweden and Tennessee before working for ESPN.
She later co-founded the luxury sock brand Ace & Me.
Eberstein has been married to Grant, 65, since 2018 and the couple share three children.
The pair began dating in 2012, but it took three years before the former playboy resolved to settle down.
It was the actor’s first marriage, despite a high-profile relationship with model and actress Elisabeth Hurley, who he dated for 13 years before they split in 2000.
The road to marriage for Grant and Eberstein was not a simple one.
Grant fathered a child with Chinese singer and restaurant worker Tinglan Hong in 2011 before fathering his second child with Eberstein in 2012.
He briefly reunited with Hong and she gave birth to their second child – Grant’s third – later in 2012.
Grant and Eberstein had two more children in 2015 and 2018, before wedding in a private ceremony at the Chelsea Register Office in London later that year.
After finally tying the knot, Grant admitted he should have done it earlier.

“I should have done it before. I’m just lucky,” he told Savannah Guthrie on the US Today show.
“I’m lucky. I’ve got a great wife. I love her.”
Paradoxically, he went on to tell Reuters that he still thought marriage was unnecessary.
“I still think it’s nonsense really, and so does my wife by the way. But it just seemed like a nice, cozy thing to do,” he said in June 2018.
