ABBA’s Agnetha releases new single, solo album to come

Agnetha Fältskog of the iconic Swedish pop band ABBA, has released her first new song in 10 years and announced a new solo album.

The album, called A+, will be released on October 13, the singer said on Thursday.

Her first single from the album Where Do We Go From Here? has already been released. It is a catchy and contemporary pop song.

The 73-year-old musician’s single is said to be the only new recording on the album. Other songs are reworkings of her last solo album called A, which was released in 2013.

Fältskog wrote on Instagram that she was inspired a few years ago, when she heard a song from A on the radio and wondered what that album would sound like if it were produced today. She approached the producers with her idea.

“A little later, I heard the first revised song and I have to say I was absolutely thrilled,” she said.

“It sounded so fresh and modern, even better than I had imagined!”

Fältskog formed ABBA in the 1970s with Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid – also known as Frida – Lyngstad.

The group rose to international stardom with songs such as Waterloo, Dancing Queen and Mamma Mia.

Fältskog has since released several solo albums. In November 2021, ABBA released their first joint studio album in almost 40 years.
