The 81-year-old is touring Australia next year and she has no plans to retire.
LaBelle’s path to superstardom was never easy – she’s had to fight racism throughout her rise to the top of the global music industry.
Not only is she an icon in her own right, heralded as the “Godmother of Soul”, LaBelle is also the godmother of Mariah Carey. She mentors superstars like Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Ariana Grande, too.
