A number of commenters criticised Teigen, who is outspoken about wanting to project a ‘real’ image rather than an unattainable one, for leaving baby Luna at home.

“Who wants to leave a one week old baby to go to a bar?” asked one commenter.

In response to the flurry of comments, Teigen posted on Twitter: “I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning!”

A number of users felt the need to point out that when they first had their children, the couldn’t bear to leave their side.

“‘I never wanted to leave my daughter, I love her, BUT THAT’S JUST ME’ – the passive aggressiveness is real!” responded Teigen.

Other users were quick to defend the model-cum-cookbook-author over the incident, with one saying: “Apparently being a parent means you never get to eat unless you have your kid attached to you.”

Since giving birth, Teigen has provided a very realistic account of being a mother, even sharing with fans that she had to come home wearing a nappy.

Previously, the supermodel was also very open about her fertility struggles, including her decision to use IVF to conceive Luna.
