Taylor Swift credits Lady Gaga for new romance

Taylor Swift has credited her romance with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris to fellow popstar Lady Gaga.

Responding to an unlucky-in-love fan on Twitter, Swift insisted Gaga had “magical” powers after a tweet she sent to Swift a few months ago became strangely prophetic.

On Saturday, Taylor Swift mega-fan Alexander Goldschmiedt tweeted: “I pride myself on still thinking love can be like a romantic comedy but sometimes I just think I’m behind and just won’t catch up.”

Swift responded: “Go read Gaga’s tweet that she sent me a few months ago. It’s good love luck. Because it’s not a tweet. It’s a magical spell.”

Swift is referring to a tweet Lady Gaga sent after Swift congratulated her on her Sound of Music-themed Oscar performance.

“Life is friends, family, and love! We all see that in you, your prince charming will come!” Gaga wrote back in March.

Apparently, Lady Gaga has the power of foresight because, later that month, Swift was spotted with current boyfriend Calvin Harris.

The pair have been loved-up ever since, posting photos of themselves together on social media and attending awards shows hand-in-hand.

Lady Gaga was more than happy to help, responding to Swift’s tweet by posting a photo of Disney character The Little Mermaid and her Prince Charming with the words: “I only cast happy spells! Unless there’s bad blood. I have a separate cauldron for that. Happy for u.”

In a radio interview last week, Harris gushed about his girlfriend, describing their relationship as “absolutely fantastic”.

“It’s not even a case of ticking all the boxes. It’s like, there’s boxes I didn’t know existed which she ticks. It’s really ridiculous. But yeah she does an incredible BBQ. And she’s genuinely an incredible cook, and human being,” Harris told Kiis FM UK of Swift.
