Quickflix CEO lashes out at Netflix with open letter

With the arrival of Netflix in Australia looming, the CEO of one of its main competitors Quickflix has lashed out at the service, labelling its actions underhanded and suggesting local audiences will suffer in the long run.

Among a list of complaints, CEO Stephen Langsford claims Netflix is “turning a blind eye” to the issue of Australian subscribers gaining access to its service and as a result placing the viability of local providers in jeopardy through its failure to act.

Mr Langsford concludes his letter by challenging Netflix to play by the rules and face up to the issue of Australians accessing Netflix through Virtual Private Networks.
